I have to sort of break it up to respond.

"do you think that it's right that Liberals can call Conservatives racist, and bigoted,"

All liberals don't call all Conservatives racist and bigoted. Some liberals don't call any Conservatives racist and bigoted. Some liberals call some conservatives racist and bigoted Some non liberals call some conservatives racist and bigoted. And guess what? Some conservatives (as well as some liberals) actually ARE racist and bigoted.

Do I think it's right? I think people of any political stripe who are racist and bigoted should be called racist and bigoted.

"as soon as a Conservative makes a statement about the facts of the sponsorship scandal he deserves to be sued?""

Well, many thousands of Conservatives have made statements about the sponsorship scandal (as well as many NDP and indepenedents), and almost none of them have been sued. However, I can conceive of statements that someone (political party is irrelevant) might make that could provide grounds for legal action, yes.

Hope that clarified my position.

Good luck with the votes.Balbulicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03909755014063452689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9578224.post-1153349618876555802006-07-19T18:53:00.000-04:002006-07-19T18:53:00.000-04:00hmmm.... I don't know if I should be insulted, or be exhalted?

What I find most interesting is that balbulican cleverly manages to avoid the whole point of this post in his little diatribe...

"For those cynics who complain that Blue Bloggers tend toward the mind-numbing reiteration of simple-minded rants and slogans without thought or substance, no more forceful rebuttal can be found than such eloquent and subtle commentators as the wittily named Back Off Government, who opines in a forceful screed that…well, let’s have him develop his own thesis here."

Then he goes on to quote the bottom part of my post, that was meant as a humorus diatribe against those in politics that feel they can shut up people by threatening to sue them.

Really balbulican, I want to know, do you think that it's right that Liberals can call Conservatives racist, and bigoted, but as soon as a Conservative makes a statement about the facts of the sponsorship scandal he deserves to be sued?William Tellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14840575381956651912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9578224.post-1153239094602514812006-07-18T12:11:00.000-04:002006-07-18T12:11:00.000-04:00Congratulations!This post has been nominated for "...Congratulations!

This post has been nominated for "Con of the Week" in the Conucopia Feature of Stageleft.

You may vote for this post at: http://www.stageleft.info/2006/07/18/conucopia-vii-from-the-seventh-circle/

Best of luck!Balbulicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03909755014063452689noreply@blogger.com
